Meet Stuart, Our Experienced Accounts Assistant
With over 20 years of experience in finance, Stuart Casswell brings a wealth of knowledge to his role as Accounts Assistant at Nuvo, where he handles payroll, bookkeeping, accounts, and tax preparations . Stuart’s career path has been anything but conventional—he originally studied Economics before retraining in IT , working for major companies like East Midlands Electricity and British Gas , where he developed multi-million-pound contractor systems .
After 15 years in IT , Stuart took a bold leap, running self-employed business franchises with Shell and Total Oil . When market changes led him to close that chapter, he pivoted once again, using his experience managing his own books to pursue AAT and Sage courses , ultimately finding his way into accounting. He joined Swandec in 2016 , and following the merger with Nuvo, he’s continued to expand his software expertise and broaden his skills.
Stuart takes pride in supporting clients and enjoys growing his knowledge and experience in the ever-evolving world of finance. A fun fact? He was the Finance Manager at Notts County during the infamous Munto Finance debacle , working alongside Sven-Göran Eriksson and playing a part in keeping the club afloat.
Outside of work, Stuart enjoys reading, walking, sailing, and painting (the artistic kind, not decorating!). When it comes to travel, he’s happy exploring anywhere in the UK or abroad . While he typically stays motivated by the opportunities each day brings, he admits his motivation is waning slightly as he approaches retirement at the end of March —and well-deserved, too!
Charlie Blow is a Tax Manager at Nuvo, specializing in self-assessment tax returns for individuals . With eight years of experience in the field, Charlie’s career in tax began by chance, following roles in pub management and insolvency —a unique journey that’s given him a diverse skill set .
Charlie joined Nuvo in 2024 through an acquisition and is currently completing his ATT qualification , which he expects to finish soon. He thrives on problem-solving and takes pride in delivering excellent customer service , ensuring clients feel supported and confident in their tax matters.
Outside of work, Charlie is an avid golfer and sports enthusiast . He’s also looking forward to an upcoming trip to Sri Lanka —and is excited to add it to his list of favorite travel destinations!

With decades of experience in accounting, Amanda Cope plays a key role as a Client Manager at Nuvo, preparing accounts and tax returns for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies . She also handles VAT returns, management accounts, and client queries , ensuring businesses have the support they need.
Amanda began her career in 1989 in an industry accounts department before moving into practice in 1998 . Her love for maths at school led her to apply for an accounts trainee role , and she’s never looked back. Since joining Nuvo through an acquisition in 2023 , she has progressed from Accounts Assistant to Client Manager , building strong relationships with her clients —something she is most proud of.
Outside of work, family and friends mean everything to Amanda. When she’s not watching her kids play football or cricket , she enjoys shopping and coffee catch-ups with friends . She also plays cricket for a local club and is a three-time East Midlands Women’s Cricket League Champion in Softball . Her favorite travel destination? Italy , a place full of special memories.

Anna Nyks recently joined Nuvo as a Commercial Administrator , working closely with her line manager to support client proposals and various administrative tasks . Though she’s only been in the role for three weeks , Anna brings a strong background in stock control and warehouse operations , having previously worked as a Stock Control Administrator at London City Bond Ltd and in inventory management roles at B&Q Wincanton Fulfilment Centre .
Looking to expand her skills beyond logistics, Anna was drawn to Nuvo for a new challenge where she could apply her problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in a commercial setting. She’s already thriving in Nuvo’s supportive team environment , excited to learn and grow within the company.

With over 18 years of payroll experience , Adam Armiger leads a team while managing his own client portfolio . His career began with a chance interview for a trainee role , and he’s been dedicated to payroll ever since. A key achievement? Earning his CIPP degree in payroll management .
Adam joined Nuvo through an acquisition from PKF Smith Cooper and continues to streamline processes and collaborate on projects to unify teams. His expertise in spotting payroll issues quickly makes him a valuable asset. And what does he enjoy most? Spreadsheets!
Outside of work, Adam is a film and anime enthusiast and is currently getting back into squash after a break. A fan of all things Japanese , visiting Japan is at the top of his travel wishlist.

Ben has been in the accounting industry for over a decade, starting with work experience at Nuvo before progressing through the ranks to become Managing Director at just 29. Interestingly, accountancy wasn’t his first career choice – he originally wanted to be a vet from the age of four! But after a brief stint of work experience, he quickly realised it wasn’t for him. His aptitude for maths led him towards business and economics, landing him an opportunity at Nuvo, and the rest is history.
Since then, he has built a career focused on empowering great people to do great things . He takes pride in creating an environment where talent is nurtured, autonomy is valued, and people can shape their careers around their aspirations . At 21, he became an ACCA affiliate , working directly with clients across multiple industries and in various stages of their journeys. Now, as Managing Director, he’s dedicated to driving Nuvo’s culture, ensuring both the team and clients thrive.
For Ben, success isn’t just about business growth – it’s about people . Seeing Nuvo’s culture thrive, retaining a team that enjoys their work, and watching clients grow with Nuvo’s support are what truly motivate him. Outside of work, Ben is passionate about sport and food . He loves cooking and sharing great meals with his wife , and he’s a Derby County season ticket holder , a burden he shares with his dad. When he’s not in the kitchen or at Pride Park, he enjoys exploring Europe , with Greece being a firm favourite for its relaxed culture and incredible food.
Alex is an Associate Partner at NUVO and has been with the company since November 2021. He completed his ICAEW training contract in 2016 and has since continued to maintain his knowledge through professional development in his areas of interest. With a passion for helping clients understand their business and tax exposure, Alex prides himself on being an all-around business advisor who can provide support and advice on various tax and business matters.
Alex’s expertise lies within Trusts and Estates, where he helps clients retain assets they have worked hard to build. He believes that everyone will be impacted by inheritance and taxes at some point in their lifetime, and he wants to help them make informed decisions to mitigate their tax exposure.
As Manager of the Mansfield office, Alex is responsible for managing the team’s operations to ensure that they provide high-quality compliance and advisory services to their clients. He is also responsible for the preparation and review of statutory accounts for non-small entitles under FRS102 along side the compliance and advisory services offered to their trust client portfolio.
Alex’s greatest professional accomplishment so far is passing all 15 ICAEW chartered exams on the first try. In his free time, he enjoys exploring new places with his family and playing golf.
Meet Chris, Our Associate Partner
As an Associate Partner at Nuvo , Chris Littlewood specialises in the property sector , bringing over two decades of accounting experience to the team. Since qualifying from university in 2001 , Chris has built a career focused on helping people understand their finances , enabling them to focus on what they love while knowing they have the right support. Over the past five years , he has developed a strong property specialism , allowing him to provide tailored advice to clients in the sector .
Chris joined Nuvo in September 2024 and has been eager to enhance engagement and strengthen Nuvo’s offerings by integrating his property expertise . He thrives on helping others , whether by solving complex challenges or offering simple yet effective financial guidance. His career highlights include serving as a FTSE 250 compliance officer , managing international trade and charitable commitments , and helping a client restructure their debt into non-redeemable equity to save their business from folding .
His expertise extends beyond the UK—Chris qualified as an Australian accountant during his time in industry, maintaining his membership despite limited need for it now. In 2024 , he also completed his ACCA accreditation in business valuations , recognising the increasing demand for valuation services as business owners plan for retirement and succession .
Outside of work, Chris enjoys relaxing in the hot tub with a good programme , taking long walks in the British countryside , and spending quality time with family. A former UK national Texas Hold’em poker finalist and two-time East Midlands regional champion , he now plays only socially, trading high-stakes tournaments for family life. When it comes to travel, he loves Filey for its food festival and Newbiggin-by-the-Sea for rock pooling with his family .

Meet Emma, Our Client Onboarding Coordinator
Emma Waldron is Client Onboarding Coordinator at Nuvo, ensuring that new clients are smoothly integrated into the firm’s systems and processes . With a finance background and 13 years of experience at Rolls-Royce in Payroll and Expenses , she made the decision to take redundancy in 2024 to explore a new career path. Since joining Nuvo in September 2024 , she has quickly adapted to the fast-paced nature of onboarding , enjoying the variety that each day brings.
One of Emma’s proudest achievements is gaining her AAT qualification , which has strengthened her expertise in finance. Since joining Nuvo, she has also developed in-depth knowledge of HMRC and Companies House regulations , further enhancing her ability to support clients effectively.
Outside of work, Emma loves watching films, spending time with her family, walking their dog Cosmo , and travelling in their touring caravan . She also enjoys baking cupcakes, reading, and listening to music and podcasts . A lover of hot destinations , her most memorable trip was her honeymoon in Thailand , and she hopes to return one day.
Emma takes pride in helping others and maintaining a positive attitude , ensuring that new clients feel welcomed and supported . She stays motivated by doing a great job, making a strong impression on clients, and contributing to the success of the team .
With over two decades of bookkeeping experience , Claire Murdy manages client accounts, onboarding, and HMRC queries . Her career began in the Civil Service before moving into her family’s soft furnishing business , which she later successfully sold .
She joined JRB Accountancy in 2019 , later merging into Nuvo in 2023 , expanding her role further. Claire enjoys helping clients and securing HMRC refunds —and has mastered tuning out HMRC’s hold music!
Outside of work, she loves gardening, reading, and jigsaws . A dedicated bird lover, she hosts a daily garden visit from magpies, starlings, blackbirds, and one loyal robin —and spends a fortune on bird seed!
Her favorite place? Scotland , where whisky distillery tours are a must thanks to her husband’s collection. Claire takes pride in happy clients and tackles challenges one step at a time —always ready for the next deadline.
Chelsie Speirs is a Senior Client Manager at Nuvo, bringing a strong academic background and three years of experience to the role. She joined the firm after graduating with a first-class honours degree in Accountancy and Law , an achievement she is particularly proud of.

Meet Craig, our dedicated Client Manager who’s been an integral part of Nuvo for an
impressive 10 years (including his time spent at one of our acquisitions!). Fully AAT-qualified, Craig manages a diverse range of limited company accounts from engineers to financial advisors. He is known for his outstanding communication skills that ensure clients always feel informed and supported. Organised and deadline driven, he’s a
trusted partner to those he works with. Craig’s commitment to excellence shines both in and out of the office, making him a
valued member of our team. Outside the office, Craig treasures family time with his wife, two young daughters, and their Labrador, Winnie. When he’s not on family duty, you’ll likely find him on the table tennis circuit (he’s been playing for over 20 years and represents Nottinghamshire
County!) or on the golf course, where he maintains an impressive 6 handicap!
With over 40 years in the accounting world (starting at just 17!), Elaine brings a wealth of
experience and a sharp eye for all things VAT. As a VAT Manager for over two decades, she’s encountered just about every VAT scenario imaginable, helping clients across a diverse range of industries solve their trickiest VAT
challenges. Elaine’s commitment, both at work and home, makes her an invaluable part of our team
and her focus on detail ensures clients always receive top notch support. When she’s not busy with VAT and bookkeeping, she can be found surrounding herself with her loved ones! With nearly 40 years of marriage, two children and four wonderful grandchildren, family time is a big part of Elaine’s life, and spending time with them helps
her to relax and recharge!
Gary is one our dedicated Associate Partners here at Nuvo! With 24 years of experience in accountancy (all at the same firm, so there’s no question about his commitment to the job!), Gary has worked all the way up from Accounts Junior
to his current role as Associate Partner. He thrives on the variety of industries we support, which keeps every day fresh and engaging. He’s a top manager to his team, and is known company-wide for his positive
attitude and witty jokes! Outside of work. Gary’s time is devoted to his two young children. When they’re not off to dancing, gymnastics, swimming, or scouts, he’s busy making the most of every moment
with them!
Danny is one of our Associate Partners. An accountant and chartered tax advisor with over
a decade of experience in the accounting world, he definitely knows his stuff! Since joining Nuvo in October 2023 as an associate partner (thanks to one of our exciting acquisitions), Danny has been tackling complex tax and accounting queries like a pro,
providing insightful advice that truly makes a difference for his clients. When he’s not saving clients on their taxes, you’ll find Danny enjoying a good game of
cricket or taking a leisurely stroll with his wife, young child, and trusty springer spaniel.
Daisy-Mae is one of our dedicated Senior Accountants here at Nuvo! Since joining the accounting industry in 2020, Daisy-Mae has discovered a particular love for working on limited company accounts. She is also currently working toward her ACCA
qualification. Outside of work, Daisy is all about quality time with family, friends, and her best furry friend, Kodi, the laziest (and neediest) Cockerpoo around! She also has a serious love for
travel, particularly Caribbean cruises, and especially if someone else is paying!
Meet David, Our Accounts Senior
With 40 years of experience in accountancy, David Bennett brings a wealth of knowledge to his role as Accounts Senior at Nuvo. He specializes in preparing accounts for small limited companies , handling corporation tax calculations , and completing quarterly VAT returns . His career began in an unexpected way— working for his ex-wife’s father —but it soon turned into a long-term profession.
David’s experience grew significantly when he moved from a small family business to a larger Derby-based practice , where he was entrusted with managing the Business Services Department . He later joined Nuvo through the acquisition of DEKM Chartered Accountants , where his role evolved to include more direct client interaction .
Outside of work, David enjoys walking, swimming, and going to the gym , as well as spending time with his daughter, son, and three grandchildren . A keen traveler, he loves visiting Asia and the USA , and after recently experiencing his first cruise at 60 , he’s eager to embark on more in the future.
David takes pride in his dedication to his work and his ability to face challenges head-on , both professionally and in life. His practical, no-nonsense approach and extensive experience make him a valued member of the Nuvo team.

Heather Brelsford became part of Nuvo’s payroll team following the acquisition of Clarkson Accountancy Ltd in October 2024 . With over 15 years of experience in payroll, she has worked primarily with small businesses , ensuring payrolls are processed smoothly and efficiently. Known for her responsiveness , Heather is always quick to resolve queries and provide support to clients.
Outside of work, Heather enjoys meeting up with friends for walks and visiting National Trust sites , appreciating the beauty of the outdoors. She also loves weekend camping trips around the UK , embracing the adventure of exploring different places. When it comes to travel, her favorite destination is New Zealand , drawn to its stunning landscapes and unique experiences.

Jade is one of our talented Client Manager here at Nuvo! She jumped straight into the world of accountancy right out of school and has been at it

With 18 years of experience in tax , Jamie Serplus plays a key role as a Tax Manager , handling the preparation and submission of self-assessment tax returns . His journey started as a trainee with no tax knowledge , and through dedication, he worked his way up to become a Director and Shareholder before joining Nuvo in February 2024 through an acquisition.
Jamie values work-life balance , appreciating the flexibility of remote work and a four-day week . He takes pride in building strong client relationships and continually learning and progressing in the tax field —even if he jokes it’s a bit of a snooze!
Outside of work, Jamie spends time with family and horses and is an avid golfer (a lot!) . His favorite destination? Greece—for the food, of course!

Based in Nuvo’s Derby office , Georgina Harris plays a key role as an Integration & Onboarding Coordinator , focusing on seamlessly bringing new acquisitions into the business . James Abbott is a Client Manager at Nuvo, specializing in producing year-end accounts for complex clients and serving as their main point of contact . He also mentors junior team members and reviews their work. James began his accountancy career in October 2016 after completing his A Levels and has been with the same team ever since, starting at Swandec before its merger with Nuvo in April 2022 .
With a natural talent for maths and finance , accountancy was a logical career path for James. He’s proud of completing all his AAT exams on the first try and building a strong client portfolio. As the Nottingham office’s dedicated software champion , he’s the go-to person for both colleagues and clients with software-related queries.
Outside of work, James is a passionate golfer , representing Nottinghamshire with a +3 handicap . He also enjoys spending time with his two cocker spaniel puppies, Charlie and Oscar , and is a dedicated sports fan, holding season tickets for both Notts County and the Nottingham Panthers . His favorite travel destination? Portugal , for its incredible golf courses and, of course, the cheap beer!

James is a Chartered Accountant with over 10 years of experience. After earning a law degree from Nottingham University, James transitioned into accountancy, qualifying in 2011. In 2015, they founded their own accountancy practice, which they merged with Nuvo in 2023, expanding their services to help even more businesses thrive. Outside of work, James enjoys staying active with running and cycling, always seeking new ways to challenge themselves. With a practical and client-focused approach, James specializes in accounting and taxation, working to deliver real value and long-term success.
With years of experience in payroll (though she might say “too long!” ), Jane Bartle plays a key role as a Payroll Administrator at Nuvo, ensuring payrolls are processed accurately and on time. Her journey into payroll began when she started as an office junior , and it naturally led her into the field. Jane joined Nuvo through an acquisition five months ago and enjoys the variety that comes with payroll, as no two days are ever the same .
Jane takes pride in her attention to detail and accuracy , always ensuring everything runs smoothly. When challenges arise, she stays focused and organized to get the job done—fueled by plenty of tea and biscuits !

Meet Georgia, Our Accounts Assistant
Georgia Hulland is an Accounts Assistant at Nuvo, where no two days are the same. Her role involves a variety of responsibilities, including bookkeeping, preparing accounts, VAT returns, and self-assessments . Georgia joined Nuvo after completing her A levels , where her interest in accountancy first began. While studying BTEC Business , she particularly enjoyed a module on personal and business finance , which introduced her to different accounting reports. A conversation with her mum, an AAT tutor at a local college, encouraged her to pursue the field, and she hasn’t looked back since.
One of Georgia’s proudest achievements so far is passing her AAT Level 3 qualification . She joined Nuvo through an apprenticeship training provider, EMA , and is now continuing her studies at Level 4 . She finds motivation in the supportive and encouraging environment at Nuvo, where her colleagues are always willing to help, especially when it comes to her studies.
Outside of work, Georgia has a strong passion for sports . She previously played football for Tamworth FC but had to step away from the game due to injury. Despite this setback, she remains involved by coaching an under-7 girls’ football team at the weekend and stays active by going to the gym during the week. When it comes to travel, her favourite destination is Cape Verde .
At work, Georgia takes pride in always trying her best and working independently before seeking help when needed. When faced with challenges, she refers back to previous work, her notes, or does her own research before turning to her team for assistance. Her motivation comes from the opportunities for progression in her role, driven by the belief that she can go as far as she pushes herself.
As Data Officer at Nuvo, Henry Stowell is responsible for data migrations, data quality, analysis, automations, and API integrations , all aimed at improving workflow efficiency . With a background in Economics and a natural talent for statistics and data analysis , he started his career in 2023 at an international hotel chain before joining Nuvo to build a data function from scratch —a challenge he’s already made great progress on.
Henry enjoys automating processes , especially when it involves coding in Python . He’s proud of his work on Nuvo’s new client onboarding web app and FYI migrations across the offices, with more exciting growth ideas in the pipeline . His expertise has expanded into Python, PowerShell scripting, and database management .
Outside of work, Henry is passionate about coding , currently developing a website set to launch in a few months . He’s also a huge Houston Rockets fan and loves painting Warhammer models , finding it a great way to unwind. His favorite place to visit? Croatia , where his mum is from, thanks to its stunning scenery and incredible food .
Henry takes pride in making workflows simpler for others , ensuring his automations enhance efficiency across the company. He tackles challenges by stepping back to see the big picture , ensuring solutions fit seamlessly into existing systems. Motivated by continuous learning and self-improvement , Henry is always eager to expand his knowledge and skill set.
With 17 years of payroll experience , Helen Moody plays a vital role as a Senior Payroll Administrator , ensuring payrolls are processed smoothly while supporting her team. Starting her career straight out of college, she found her passion in payroll and recently achieved her CIPP qualification .

Brought into Nuvo by a recruiter while still in college , Kai originally didn’t feel ready but took a shot—and it paid off. He thrives in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment , enjoying the challenge of reaching big goals and holding himself to high standards . Along the way, he’s gained expertise in large-scale marketing operations, software integrations, and department-building .
Outside of work, Kai is a competitive twin-engine prokart racer , a gym enthusiast , and a freelance videographer/content strategist —using his skills for extra challenges and income. This passion led to a career change, and when she had children, she founded her own accounting business, balancing flexibility with family life . Michelle ensures that new employees integrate smoothly , collaborates with key stakeholders to implement tailored learning solutions , and manages the apprenticeship programme and external partnerships .
Michelle’s journey into Learning and Development began when she was working in Financial Services and was given the opportunity to join a training team on secondment . She travelled across the branch network, training staff on a new cashiering system and providing essential support during its launch . The experience ignited a passion for training, leading to an extended secondment and ultimately, a permanent role in learning and development .
Throughout her career, Michelle has achieved several significant milestones , including:

personal tax (her favourite subject)! Nicola climbed the ranks and when Nuvo took over. Nicola became our Associate Partner in our Grantham office. She leads a team that supports nearly 2,000 clients, primarily
clergy, every day. When she’s not busy navigating the tax needs of her clients, Nicola loves soaking up the atmosphere at music festivals, exploring new destinations, and curling up with a good

Eleanor Harrison is an Audit Assistant at Nuvo, based in the Burton office , where she works closely the audit team. With a strong foundation in finance , Eleanor transitioned into audit after gaining experience in purchase ledger during her apprenticeship at Moran Logistics . She successfully completed her first Level 3 AAT exam during her apprenticeship and is now continuing to build her expertise in the audit sector at Nuvo.
Eleanor’s path into accountancy has been unique . After completing her A Levels , she initially pursued medical school before realising that her true passion was in finance and accounting . That decision led her to change direction and build a career in the field, bringing her to Nuvo to develop her skills in audit.

Andy is our Tax Associate Partner! Andy has been in the Tax game since the late 80’s, spending almost a decade working at HMRC before switching to working at various
accountants across the East Midlands. (This means he knows HMRC’s tricks!) Andy has been with Nuvo since 2022 when he joined to set up and run our tax department. He’s brilliant with numbers and deals with tax queries for all of our offices
alongside running a portfolio of his own clients. When he’s not busy saving you loads of money, Andy likes listening to music, and grooves

After qualifying as an ACCA accountant in 1997 , John continued to build strong client relationships and develop his expertise. In 2020 , Wall and Partners was acquired by Nuvo, where John has continued his role, maintaining his commitment to providing outstanding client service.

Since then, Sam has grown into her role, eventually joining Nuvo when Bradley Chilvers came on board.

Phil is a Finance Director at NUVO with an extensive background in finance. He completed his AAT in 2003 and followed this with ACCA in 2006, becoming FCCA later that year. For Phil, providing insightful management information is his key focus, enabling businesses to make better and more informed decisions. He is responsible for building, maintaining, analysing and interpreting data to help drive the company’s growth ambitions.
Joining NUVO in July 2022, Phil leads the Practice Management team, ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day transactional work. He also facilitates the production of management information in the form of management accounts, budgets, and forecasts. As part of his role, he is accountable for cash flow management and supports in the raising of funding as required. His role has also grown into offering FD type services to clients of NUVO.
When not working, Phil enjoys spending time with his two boys, Henry and William, who add a lot of value and enjoyment to his life. He is an avid sports fan and loves playing and watching football, tennis, and golf.

Sharon Coxon is an experienced Payroll Manager at Nuvo, where she oversees weekly and monthly payrolls for her portfolio of clients. With a career spanning over 35 years within the company, Sharon has held various roles, starting as a receptionist before working as a secretary, accounts assistant, bookkeeper , and finally finding her true calling in payroll management .
Sharon’s journey began when she left school at 16 , eager to work in an office environment. She started on a Youth Training Scheme at N S Mansell & Co , a chartered accountancy firm in Littleover. Her dedication and passion for the role soon secured her a permanent position . Over time, Sharon witnessed several company transitions—from becoming part of Gordon Emery & Co , merging with Doyle & Associates to form DEKM , and eventually becoming part of Nuvo through an acquisition.

Meet Dan, our Commercial Director and Head of Audit, whose journey in accounting began back in 2007 at a small local firm.
Dan’s career took him to a top 10 national firm where he managed audit projects for owner-managed businesses before joining Nuvo in 2015. Dan’s leadership quickly saw him rise to equity Partner by 2018, Director in 2022, and now Commercial Director in 2024.
Today, Dan leads our strategic growth through our existing business, organic leads, forging key partnerships, and expanding our client services. As Nuvo’s Responsible Individual (RI), he also oversees audit assignments, ensuring top-quality outcomes.
